I am so lucky I meet so many people at the store and via internet, everyone is always curious about how I got started, If I make everything by hand, when I started this business and so on...
When I first started my business and opened my store I felt a bit insecure about what I was doing, I guess is normal because I was about to start something I have never done before and I felt like I was lacking experience. As my business grew I started to gain more and more confidence and it was super easy to explain to my customers all that I did and I was able to answer questions with ease. Now I am more comfortable with answering the # 1 question... are you a Hobbyst, is this your hobby? do you mass produce your goods? and the answer is no. I am not and no I don't. So here is where I want to explain what I do, why and how. I am the visionary, creative force, artist and maker behind Flavia Soaps & More. So what does that mean? Well let me explain....I spend countless hours, days and months thinking, making, testing, designing packaging and ultimately making my final creations for all of you to enjoy. It is a very time consuming process because everything must be just right before is available for sale, I also don't like to think of my self as I mass producer because I am not, I like to make large batches of products but I like them to be fresh, so NO storage facility with thousands of pre-made products that are going to sit there until they are all sold. My approach is that of taking weekly inventory of everything and making fresh batches every week. I like for my products to be fresh every time. Don't get me wrong I make 100s of candles every week but that is because I am able to sell them quickly. Some people don't understand why this is and my response is simply that when a product is hand made in small batches it gets more attention it has that personal quality that something that was made in a factory just does not have and a lot of my customers simply crave that quality.
My weekly schedule consist of:
Answering emails (on a daily basis)
Ordering Raw materials for my products
Scheduling production, for example, Monday might be all day candle making, Tuesday I will spend all day making sugar scrubs and so on. Custom orders are always part of my week, design invitations and come up with ideas for favors and details for weddings and other type of parties.
On Fridays I put it all together and get ready for the Store on Saturday. I have now expanded on my Invitation section of the business. As some of you already know I was a Graphic Designer for many years before I opened the store... but Corporate America is not for me, but I promise to have a post about all the Invitation part of my business which I am very excited about!

I hope that I have answered some questions about what I do, I actually love to remind myself that what I do here at Flavia Soaps & More I do passion and I love it, I hope you can sense that, every piece you purchase at the store is a piece of me!
